GOT QUESTIONS?

  • Yes — PresetVault presets and camera profiles work with RAW files from all major camera manufacturers, including Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Olympus, OM System, and Leica. They also work with DNG files from mobile cameras including iPhone and Android.

The camera profiles are built as universal DCP profiles rather than being tied to a specific camera model. This means the film emulation sits on top of your camera's own colour science rather than replacing it — so a Sony shooter and a Canon shooter applying the same Kodak Portra 400 emulation will both get the Portra look while retaining the natural characteristics of their own camera's files.

The one thing worth knowing: results are optimised for RAW files. If you shoot JPEG, the presets still work but you'll have less flexibility when adjusting the look since JPEG files have less recoverable data than RAW. For the best film emulation results, shoot RAW if your camera supports it.

  • Both work. Every pack includes DNG files for Lightroom Mobile alongside the standard preset files for Lightroom Classic.

The camera profiles sync automatically between desktop and mobile via your Adobe account. Installation guides for both are included with every purchase.

  • Yes — the Film Essentials Kit is a free download that includes six film emulation presets covering Kodak, Fujifilm, and Ilford stocks, along with camera profiles, an emulation map, and installation guides.

It's built exactly the same way as the paid packs and gives you a genuine sense of the quality and workflow before committing to a purchase.

  • Every PresetVault pack includes a custom camera profile built from real film scan references — not just colour grade adjustments. The camera profile changes how Lightroom interprets your RAW file at a fundamental level, before any slider is touched.

This is what gives the emulations their film character rather than just their film colour. Most preset packs don't include profiles at all. Ours do, and it's the difference between a colour grade that looks like film and an emulation that actually behaves like it.

  • Yes — every film stock is available as an individual product, from Kodak Portra 400 to Ilford HP5 Plus 400.

If you're not sure where to start, the Film Essentials Kit is a free download that includes six film emulations — a good way to experience the quality before choosing a specific stock.

  • The most common reason presets don't appear in Lightroom is due to an incomplete installation. Please double-check our Installation Guide, which is included with every order. It walks you through each step in detail, so it's really important to follow it carefully.

    A key thing to check:

Make sure the Camera Profiles are also installed along with the presets. These profiles are essential for the presets to function properly and show up in Lightroom.
